Dream Loki's Revenge

I intend to do another update post, as I am once again super behind, but I wanted to take a moment to share my latest crazy dream. It involved all sorts of terror and action.

Since I have been married, I have had at least 2 handfuls of apocalypse dreams of some sort or another, and this one certainly didn't fall short of adventurous. Every morning that I wake up from one of these intense nightmares, I feel drained and exhausted, while Vance just feels super jealous that he didn't have such an awesome roller coaster of a night!

Let me illustrate the highlights of my mind's blockbuster movie, shall I?

Supervillian Loki, God of Mischief.

Fireballs

2 pronged spear, which I've come to find out is called a Military Fork.

Rabid zombie car??
Rabid zombie car with human-like attributes?

It's been ages since I've watched Thor, The Avengers, The Hunger Games (or read the books), or seen an episode of The Walking Dead. I watched Shrek 3 and ate popcorn the night before, so I'm not sure what exactly inspired this dream. Ready? Here goes.

Loki the god of Mischief had come to Earth to raise havoc among all of us innocent civilians, and lucky for me (sarcasm), I was the only one who could destroy him. Of course, I had the help and coaching advice of Thor the Thunder god, and my sweet husband Vance to help me out, but Loki's destruction was entirely up to me.

Shaking like a leaf, a 2 pronged spear suddenly appeared in my hands. Loki got up close and personal to my face, laughing evilly and provoking me. With Thor and Vance cheering me on in the background, I knew what I had to do. Stab Loki with my weapon.

However, I am no killer and hate bloodshed, so this was a nearly impossible and squeamish feat for me to accomplish. With my left hand covering my eyes, I braced myself and plunged toward my enemy. Just as suddenly as Loki was there, his evil spirit was howling into the air, as his body collapsed to the ground. The spirit of Loki screamed down to me, "This is not the last of Loki! I will send all my friends down to haunt you mortals for the rest of your lives!"

Enter a nightmare apocalypse.

Fireballs, destruction, poverty, and fear became a part of everyday life, as evil creatures lurked and hid in every crevice of earth, ready to jump out at any moment and take away loved ones. Always on the run, Vance and I had acquired a small army of other random survivors. On one particularly ashy evening, as we dodged fireballs galore, we found refuge in the branches of some dead, threadbare trees. A member from our survival group opened up a can of some sort of food for us to all eat, when we noticed a graveyard full of cars just behind us.

And that's when we heard the noise. Creaky and metallic. One of the cars grew in size, growing arms and legs, (much like a car you'd see in Tranformers), and came to life. Where once was a front bumper now displayed salivating, sharp teeth. It was rabid and deadly looking, and starting creeping over all the other cars, giving his favorites the jaws of life. Like a can opener to a can of refried beans, he dove into hoods, opening them up with his hands and teeth, as acid and frothy substances spilled out of the vehicles and all over the rabid car's mouth. It was a zombie car! If ever I thought human zombies were terrifying, this was even worse. No gun to the head would ever phase this deadly creature.

I looked at our crew in fear. There was a baby in our survival group who suddenly started to get fussy and make lots of noise, and that is when the Zombie car shifted his attention towards our suddenly-not-so-safe refuse of trees. We tried to quiet the baby, but it was too late. The Zombie car had heard us, and was ready to make us his next victims. There was only one thing to do. Jump! And then run!

With headlights blaring in our general direction, he was chasing after us with great and shaking speeds. All I could do was run, run, run and hope for the best. Just as I was about to jump into an unsanitary lake, I woke up from the monstrous dream.

Thanks a lot Loki.
